This is a title search by W.T. Baldwin to a quarter section of land in the Hamilton Township, Butte County, in 1862. The title is traced to owners of record in 1922, Charles E. and Metta Gosselin. Included are papers recording the adoption of William D. Streeter's daughter, Evelyn D. Streeter by Louisa Streeter.

Biographical / Historical

Daniel Streeter obtained title to one quarter section in Hamilton Township, Butte County, in 1862, and purchased the reainder in 1871. The Streeters were active and prominent members of the Biggs community. Daniel Streeter helped establish the creamery in Biggs. His son, John Wesley Streeter, donated substantial sums of money to the erection of the Baptist Church in Biggs. The remainder of the family were successful farmers, schoolteachers and businessmen.
