Happy Valley Mine Project
Scope and Contents
This collection contains four reports that were submitted to the investors, the most influential and complete of which is Ware's. All reports deal with different aspects of the project; two with dredging the channels which ran along the mine, and another that dealt with the amount of ore left in the mountain. Ware's report gives a short history of the mining industry in this area at the time of the Gold Rush and includes how much gold was mined before his report was written. The map is filled in map drawer.

Biographical / Historical
The Happy Valley Mine Project was located southwest of Redding in Shasta County, Ca. The reports were commissioned by E.A. Julian of Goldfield Consolidated Mines Exploration Co. and written by Norton Ware, for the future use of determining the profitability of investment projects. The project had been profitable until the Ware report and in 1930 acting on this report, G.A. Bigelow recommended that the project be closed because the gold had played out.
